PAL DIFFERENCES

The PAL version of Metroid Prime (released in Europe and Australia) has a few things changed from the NTSC version which are probably worth talking about. This section lists information about the situations where something must be done differently in the PAL version, like plasma beam before Thardus.

Bendezium in Geothermal Core
There's bendezium in front of the door to the plasma beam. If playing the PAL version you have to get the power bomb or a power bomb expansion to destroy it. The quickest way is the expansion from Phendrana's Edge, which can be gotten any time after getting the ice beam.

Bendezium in Ore Processing
There's also bendezium in front of the door to the grapple beam, so if you're trying to get it early, make sure you have a power bomb expansion.

Waste Disposal door initially locked
The door that goes to Waste Disposal from Main Quarry is locked until you get the grapple beam. This means that in a PAL low % game, you can't skip the first battle against wave troopers in Mine Security Station, or skip most of the power bomb run by going straight from Main Quarry to the top floor of Ore Processing.

Space Jump first method
Getting space jump as your first item is done a little differently than in NTSC, due to the fact that you can't dash jump while scanning something in PAL. So instead of a dash jump from the glowing spidervine in Landing Site, it's done from a seedling in one of the adjacent rooms.

More to be added as it is found and confirmed.
