DASH JUMP

The dash jump is a technique that gets the most distance of anything in the game, more than even an l-lock space jump. The disadvantage is it doesn't really give any height, making it most useful in situations where your destination is lower than your starting point but very far away from it.

To do a dash jump, lock on to an enemy, then simply use it to do a dash either to the left or right. Release L almost right after starting the dash and watch Samus go flying in the chosen direction. The faster you do everything, the farther you'll go. If you have space jump, you can use your second jump about 3/4 of a second later to keep the momentum and extend the length of the jump.

In the NTSC version, the scan visor can also be used for dash jumping.
