GHETTO JUMP

The ghetto jump is a strange technique that dramatically increases the height of your jumps but only works in certain places. When you have the view locked with L and jump against some walls or objects, then quickly push away from them, Samus will jump much higher than usual.

It's most prevalent when you're underwater and don't have the gravity suit. For some odd reason, you can ghetto jump off of almost anything around you and actually jump higher than Samus would if she had the gravity suit. This is the key to getting through the frigate without it, and the artifact of lifegiver without it as well.

Other places where a ghetto jump can be triggered are when trying to get the plasma beam before Thardus. The trick to get to the ice door at the top of Frigate Crash Site from the bottom also involves a ghetto jump.
