If you attempt a 27% game, you'll need to skip the Grapple Beam. Getting the Artifact of Spirit up Phendrana's Edge without the Grapple Beam is not an easy task, but it is quite possible.
Get to the "broken" root bridge, about halfway up the room. From there, look at the door and you'll notice a little tree by it, which is directly to your left when you enter the room from that door. Run off the bridge and space jump to land on that tree. Slowly walk up on the tree (towards the door) or if you can't walk, simply L-Lock down and jump up, and hope you land on the flat part of the tree. There seems to be a very small part of the upper part of the tree you can stand on.

Once you walked up a bit, turn around, L-Lock your view up and space jump to the ledge up there in front of you. You are now exactly where you would be after using the Grapple Beam twice.

You can now just get the artifact as usual. Congrats, you got the Artifact of Spirit without the Grapple Beam!
You can also get the Power Bomb Expansion up there, which may save you time instead of going all the way back to Ice Ruins West. You simply have to get to the higher part of the room, where you would usually use the Grapple Beam on the Glider. Use the L-Lock Spring Jump technique to get to the other side. Go through the morph ball tunnel and grab the Power Bombs!
