You can see it in Kip's 22% Hard run on the SDA. It's in part 2. I was wondering what he was doing until he started the fight, and then I remembered reading about this.

It lowers the health meter, but won't kill him. You still need to do one (maybe a few, I'm not sure about the details) shot to finish him once the fight starts. -Zen

I remember seeing a video of this last night, but it had an obscure name... I'll check when I get home.

Losing my mind...

Ok, I know I saw this video last night... I was tooling around on the sites looking at everyone's videos. Someone has this recorded because it took me a second to realize what the person was doing... I just thought they were being bored while gaining energy in a light zone and shooting the statue up on the cliff. It may have been named for the bomb jumping? I can't find it, and I cleared my download history last night... :(

Okay, Does it actually lower his health meter, or does it just make one power shot do ridiculous damage? I followed all the damage and pretty much wasted all my missiles on where the Jump Guardian is supposed to be (It's right in front of the Luminoth head statue, right?) and when I triggered the fight it had full health. I don't think any of my shots did any extra damage either. Am I doing something wrong?

Phew...

Thanks Zen... I just saw it again (finally)... I had been nosing around in everyone's videos early on and couldn't remember where i saw it! o_O

If you aren't going to lower his health this way, and you jump right into the fight, you can hide behind the Light Crystal to block his "dimensional energy" beams. --SheeEttin 16:00, 14 Jun 2005 (CDT)

Another little tip: if you know what your shots do when they hit different types of objects, this should be easier for you. The shots hitting the JG will be the kind that hit "non-permanent" objects, such as doors, elevators, enemies, or pretty much anything that moves. To figure out if you're hitting it or not, fire a few rounds at the ground in front of you. See how it goes bright yellow, orange, black, gone? "Non-permanent" objects only go bright yellow, gone. Fire a few shots at the statue behind where it should be. If you see it go in the "permanent" object sequence, that's not him. Try a little bit to the right. That's probably him. --SheeEttin 10:05, 19 Jul 2005 (CDT)
