A Secret World is an area that you see when you exit a room from it's intended boundaries.  This name was first from the original NES Metroid, and have been carried on in Metroid 2: Return of Samus, Metroide Prime, and now, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The areas are usually glitchy, and can cause your game to lock up, thus having to restart. But, Secret World have helped us in fact.  In Metroid 2, they serve as a shortcut at times.  In Metroid Prime, they served as a different way to understand the game, and to even sequence break.  Who knows what they will provide us with next!

After you get the Space Jump Boots, you get get into this Secret World.  Go to the right of where U-Mos stands and lock your veiw downwards, towards him.  Now, try to jump onto his protective bubble (shoot towards him to see it).  The best place to jump onto it is no directly on top of the bubble, but morew shallow into the bubble.  You will look like you're standing on air.  Then, just jump up onto one of the ledges at the top of the room.  Chances are, once you get in, you won't be able to come back out.  Basically, if you've fallen down so that it looks like you're in the roof, you've gone too far.  You won't be able to jump back up.  All that you can do for now is walk around on the glitchy surface of the roof.  You can even get stuck if you use the Screw Attack or transform into the Morph Ball.

Main Energy Control (I think that's what it's called)
