Method One

Using a perfectly timed Space Jump, you can get onto a small ledge above the entrance to the internal area of the station. From there, jump onto the roof. I beleive this to be the fastest method of getting onto the roof.
Method Two

To make it up to the roof by means of a slower but easier method, simply jump on the rim of the level itself before jumping onto the small ledge above the entrance to the internal area of the station.
Method Three

You can also shoot out the grating in the hall into the interior, then jumping onto the roof to the sides of the grating. You can shoot the grating out from under your friends for some fun. ;)
