An easy method to get to the light and dark beam doors was discovered by Matt.

Stand on the ring and look down, facing the door you want to get to (light or dark). Jump backwards off the ledge, then when you start to go below the ledge, jump again while holding forward, B&R and you'll go flying forward. If you don't go forward far enough, you jumped too soon.
video - note that platforms were already extended... oh well.
