1) As soon as the fight begins, morph.

2) When the tentacles get near you(ideal is when swatting or spinning) use a powerbomb to instantly destroy 80% to all of the tentacles.

3) Unmorph and finish off any remaining tentacles with single shots of light beam or missiles. Each tentacle can be destroyed with ONE light beam or TWO missile shots. If the Emperor is charging a dark ball, it won't shoot it if you destroy all tentacles first.

4) Begin charging your power beam as the core unfolds.

5) Using careful timing, fire a super missile into the unshielded gap of the core. If you are less accurate use charged light beams, but beware, this takes longer. It is almost impossible to hit it with a sunburst, so that is just a waste of ammo.

6) Carefully strafing to avoid being hit by the red laser, continue to fire super missiles into the core.

It takes 4 super missiles to the core to destroy form 1. If you are fast, this can be done in the first round. If you can't squeeze 4 in, repeat steps 1 through 6 until its dead.

1) Immediately spider onto the cocoon and look for yellowish orange tentacles coming out of golden triangular "spots" on the body.

Ideally you can take out 2 or 3 tentacles per power bomb. If you run out, switch to normal bombs and use those. Be careful of the inglet puddles clinging to the body as well. Those can be destroyed via normal/power bombs. To regain health, stay near the top and kill the puddles as they appear.

5) Should you run out of light/dark ammo, emperor ing will sometimes makes a cloud of Nightbarbs when you damage him with another weapon/beam. If you shoot this cloud, it wil spew out about 40 to 60 light and dark ammo. Letting you resupply quickly and switch back to annihilator.

6) Also worth noting: you can only damage his "life bar" when he is in light/dark mouth mode. This is why missiles are best during orange mouth because they seek very well and can quickly force him to another mouth color.

This is under the assumption you have 100% items. Form 3 is very difficult on hard mode if Light/Dark Beam Ammo is not conserved. Therefore, do not use any Light/Dark Beam Ammo until Form 3.

Switch to the Annihilator Beam and shoot away (best if you get closer for this). Stop shooting if the mouth closes, the Emperor starts shuffling his legs, or if the heart changes back to Orange. If it changes back to Orange go back to the Super Missiles, get further away, and repeat. I always ran out of Dark Beam ammo, so I dodged and Super Missile'd until the heart turned purple and used charged light shots unless I got more Dark Ammo and I switched back to the Annihilator. Note that the white-heart form will spew out white ingstorms that you can shoot for ammo and energy, and the dark-heart form will spew out nightbarbs for the same purpose.

Of course, make sure you dodge the emperor's attacks as best as possible during the above.

I didn't get a chance to pull it off, but the Emperor slides and stays against the wall with it's back turned for a few seconds, you may be able to get a Sonic Boom off in the hole on it's back. This takes off the most life, but it difficult to hit him with and it takes a lot of ammo.

If trying to avoid damage, Seeker missles can be great if playing the game on normal. Seeker missles can all be shot at one tentacle or multiple tentacles, depending on your situation. Locking on with one tentacle left and shooting a couple of missles is a quick way to get the eye to show. It's best to charge the seekers when jumping over the tentacles during the circular sweep(s). When the sweep finishes, just look up to your right and start targeting.

The easiest and fastest way to kill the final form of the emperor ing

1) Make sure you have at least 150-250 both light and dark beam ammo

2)Lock on to the emperor ing and rapidly fire the annilator beam at him, no matter what color his mouth is, after the first few shots with the beam his body will start flashing yellow with each shot, and then it will take serious damage.
All you have to do is fire the annihilator beam as fast as you can at him, and his health will just drop.

This is similar to Meta-Ridley's Boost Ball trick from MP1.

You can remove 3/4 of Emperor Ing's life bar in a single hit. To do so, you must:

- As he jumps to do his shockwave attack, try to Screw Attack it while it's jumping above you (or right as he starts to jump). The hard thing is to predict when he's going to jump.

You should see that it lost a lot of life, or a little. It depends on how timed you are when you screw attack it. The more quick you are, the better (not too much though). Normally, it should lose up to 3/4 of it's bar.

You can also mix up TheOldeKnight's strategy while he's not jumping. This will save you some time and energy.

Another thing, Screw Attacking it while it's swinging his claws at you will make you bounce very high, probably high enough to reach an edge where you can shoot from. I can't say this is really safe, but it's a whole safer than being down there. You can't get to the door of the room, since there's is an invisible wall installed.

You might want to master the Screw Attack before attempting to do that trick.

Sometimes after when Emperor Ing Charges at you he will face the wall for few seconds. I discovered there was a colored crystal on his back that was the same color as the mouth. You can rapidly shoot Annihilator Beam or whatever beam you are suppose to shot at him for a few seconds before he turns around again.(You wont have to worrie about missing when you are locked on because there are no legs or any thing blocking his back unlike the front.)

Emperor Ing's 3rd form is divided into 4 distinct phases. You can detect a phase change when Emp is in Light/Dark mode, you hit him, and he suddenly closes his mouth (with a reving sound in the background), shakes around the closed mouth, and opens it up. The energy ball inside will be bigger. Most phase changes will allow him to use more attacks.

In Phase 1, he uses the Ing Laser Barrage (like Warrior Ing, only with many more shots), and the Shockwave Jump. During Phase 1, his front leg's knee will frequently be between you and his mouth. Getting Super Missile shots to hit is somewhat difficult, so rely on rapid-fire Power Beam or Annihilator shots.

In Phase 2, he adds the Dark Energy Freeze attack as well as the Light Energy attack. The dark one is more feared, as it freezes you temporarily. The Light one knocks out your gun for a time. He will only do these attacks when his mouth is light or dark, and then only the appropriate one for the color. Also, he adds a move where he rears back and charges you by running towards you. Avoiding this attack is somewhat difficult, but it does present a quick opportunity to slip in a Super Missile (before the charge, when he's rearing back). Otherwise, you should still rely on the Power Beam or the Annihilator.

In Phase 3, he adds a second charge attack. Note that this is different from his running charge. It is a sliding charge attack. It is signaled by the same rearing back animation as the running charge. However, once this animation is finished, he will rear up twice, each time turning to face you (whether you're straifing out of the way or not), then charge you. When he executes this kind of charge, he will pause with his front facing the wall for a few seconds. During this time, feel free to shoot any and all kinds of attacks at the hole in his back; this will still damage him. His rearing up to face you beforehand makes it very easy to sidestep his charge, thus putting you in prime position to charge up all kinds of beam attack (and possibly a beam combo). Because he is relying on more attacks, and less dancing back and forth, hitting him with Super Missiles is much easier now. Especially during the time when he is preparing for his charging attack.

Phase 4 adds no new attacks, though he seems to become a bit more aggressive. Avoiding his attacks is a bit more difficult, but actually landing blows is easier than Phase 1 or 2.

I'm not entirely sure, but there may also be some kind of attack using his front leg, where he charges it with dark energy and shoves it into the ground in front of him. It's rarely used and I've never been hit with it. Because of this, I can't tell which phase it starts in, or how to counter it. But, from the few times I've seen it, it seems to leave him open to all kinds of attacks.

On his Shockwave Jump, if you are too close to him after it lands, he will use a melee attack on you. He can do this regardless of whether the jump hurt you or not. Keep jumping backwards to avoid it, though a sideways dash jump may avoid it as well.

If you've done this correctly, you'll notice that the tentacle portal will stay open and will remain open even in the other forms. There's nothing really interesting to do with that, since you can't enter it, open it with the beams or anything else. It's only a weird glitch, yet interesting.

This maybe is writed down on this page but I write it anyway. If you have problems with the tentacles just use one regular light shot to kill one tentacle ( on normal ). And when he is charging something at you charge a light shot and let it go! Instant change to the eye or something.

Weapons of choice: Power bombs, normal light beam, super missiles

1) As soon as the fight begins, morph.

2) When the tentacles get near you(ideal is when swatting or spinning) use a powerbomb to instantly destroy 80% to all of the tentacles.

3) Unmorph and finish off any remaining tentacles with single shots of light beam or missiles. Each tentacle can be destroyed with ONE light beam or TWO missile shots. If the Emperor is charging a dark ball, it won't shoot it if you destroy all tentacles first.

4) Begin charging your power beam as the core unfolds.

5) Using careful timing, fire a super missile into the unshielded gap of the core. If you are less accurate use charged light beams, but beware, this takes longer. It is almost impossible to hit it with a sunburst, so that is just a waste of ammo.

6) Carefully strafing to avoid being hit by the red laser, continue to fire super missiles into the core.

It takes 4 super missiles to the core to destroy form 1. If you are fast, this can be done in the first round. If you can't squeeze 4 in, repeat steps 1 through 6 until its dead.

Yes I know what you are thinking, but it is correct...you can indeed shoot him up the arse. It gives you a chance to deal some extra damage.

5) Should you run out of light/dark ammo, emperor ing will sometimes makes a cloud of Nightbarbs when you damage him with another weapon/beam. If you shoot this cloud, it wil spew out about 40 to 60 light and dark ammo. Letting you resupply quickly and switch back to annihilator.

6) Also worth noting: you can only damage his "life bar" when he is in light/dark mouth mode. This is why missiles are best during orange mouth because they seek very well and can quickly force him to another mouth color.

Switch to the Annihilator Beam and shoot away (best if you get closer for this). Stop shooting if the mouth closes, the Emperor starts shuffling his legs, or if the heart changes back to Orange. If it changes back to Orange go back to the Super Missiles, get further away, and repeat. I always ran out of Dark Beam ammo, so I dodged and Super Missile'd until the heart turned purple and used charged light shots unless I got more Dark Ammo and I switched back to the Annihilator. Note that the white-heart form will spew out white ingstorms that you can shoot for ammo and energy, and the dark-heart form will spew out nightbarbs for the same purpose.

Of course, make sure you dodge the emperor's attacks as best as possible during the above.

I didn't get a chance to pull it off, but the Emperor slides and stays against the wall with it's back turned for a few seconds, you may be able to get a Sonic Boom off in the hole on it's back. This takes off the most life, but it difficult to hit him with and it takes a lot of ammo.

This is similar to Meta-Ridley's Boost Ball trick from MP1.

You can remove 3/4 of Emperor Ing's life bar in a single hit. To do so, you must:

- As he jumps to do his shockwave attack, try to Screw Attack it while it's jumping above you (or right as he starts to jump). The hard thing is to predict when he's going to jump.

You should see that it lost a lot of life, or a little. It depends on how timed you are when you screw attack it. The more quick you are, the better (not too much though). Normally, it should lose up to 3/4 of it's bar.

You can also mix up TheOldeKnight's strategy while he's not jumping. This will save you some time and energy.

Another thing, Screw Attacking it while it's swinging his claws at you will make you bounce very high, probably high enough to reach an edge where you can shoot from. I can't say this is really safe, but it's a whole safer than being down there. You can't get to the door of the room, since there's is an invisible wall installed.

You might want to master the Screw Attack before attempting to do that trick.

Sometimes after when Emperor Ing Charges at you he will face the wall for few seconds. I discovered there was a colored crystal on his back that was the same color as the mouth. You can rapidly shoot Annihilator Beam or whatever beam you are suppose to shot at him for a few seconds before he turns around again.(You wont have to worrie about missing when you are locked on because there are no legs or any thing blocking his back unlike the front.)

Emperor Ing's 3rd form is divided into 4 distinct phases. You can detect a phase change when Emp is in Light/Dark mode, you hit him, and he suddenly closes his mouth (with a reving sound in the background), shakes around the closed mouth, and opens it up. The energy ball inside will be bigger. Most phase changes will allow him to use more attacks.

In Phase 1, he uses the Ing Laser Barrage (like Warrior Ing, only with many more shots), and the Shockwave Jump. During Phase 1, his front leg's knee will frequently be between you and his mouth. Getting Super Missile shots to hit is somewhat difficult, so rely on rapid-fire Power Beam or Annihilator shots.

In Phase 2, he adds the Dark Energy Freeze attack as well as the Light Energy attack. The dark one is more feared, as it freezes you temporarily. The Light one knocks out your gun for a time. He will only do these attacks when his mouth is light or dark, and then only the appropriate one for the color. Also, he adds a move where he rears back and charges you by running towards you. Avoiding this attack is somewhat difficult, but it does present a quick opportunity to slip in a Super Missile (before the charge, when he's rearing back). Otherwise, you should still rely on the Power Beam or the Annihilator.

In Phase 3, he adds a second charge attack. Note that this is different from his running charge. It is a sliding charge attack. It is signaled by the same rearing back animation as the running charge. However, once this animation is finished, he will rear up twice, each time turning to face you (whether you're straifing out of the way or not), then charge you. When he executes this kind of charge, he will pause with his front facing the wall for a few seconds. During this time, feel free to shoot any and all kinds of attacks at the hole in his back; this will still damage him. His rearing up to face you beforehand makes it very easy to sidestep his charge, thus putting you in prime position to charge up all kinds of beam attack (and possibly a beam combo). Because he is relying on more attacks, and less dancing back and forth, hitting him with Super Missiles is much easier now. Especially during the time when he is preparing for his charging attack.

Phase 4 adds no new attacks, though he seems to become a bit more aggressive. Avoiding his attacks is a bit more difficult, but actually landing blows is easier than Phase 1 or 2.

I'm not entirely sure, but there may also be some kind of attack using his front leg, where he charges it with dark energy and shoves it into the ground in front of him. It's rarely used and I've never been hit with it. Because of this, I can't tell which phase it starts in, or how to counter it. But, from the few times I've seen it, it seems to leave him open to all kinds of attacks.

On his Shockwave Jump, if you are too close to him after it lands, he will use a melee attack on you. He can do this regardless of whether the jump hurt you or not. Keep jumping backwards to avoid it, though a sideways dash jump may avoid it as well.

If you've done this correctly, you'll notice that the tentacle portal will stay open and will remain open even in the other forms. There's nothing really interesting to do with that, since you can't enter it, open it with the beams or anything else. It's only a weird glitch, yet interesting.

Guys, calm down. The wiki's stil here (unless we're all dreaming and not actually posting on anything), it's just not the main MP2E page. Alright, woot. As you know, to get the Darkburst, you are supposed to get that helicopter blade started after doing the morph ball timed puzzle, then somehow (I forget the normal way) get to the portal above it, then take the portal, then go through 2 rooms in Dark Aether, then take a portal to Light Aether, and then go back through those 2 rooms to grab the Darkburst.

Well, that isn't necessary. After doing my ghetto jump to get on top of the blade (on the end away from the portal by like jumping left into those rocks, then up), don't go into the portal.

Instead, if facing the portal, the Darkburst is on your left. See that bar on the "tower" thing the blade is connected to? Well, face the Dark Beam and ghetto jump the bigger metal part and the very top thing (goes outward), and try to Screw Attack at the very peak of your jump.

What's strange is when you get the Darkburst this way, the little "ooh new toy" cinema wasn't even shown, nor was "Darkburst Acquired!"

It seems like a real pain to get off, but it's extremely worth it; it saves going to the portal, through Trial Grounds, through the Dark Transit Station, using the portal in Duelling Range to get behind those bars in Mining Plaza, and going through Transit station to pick the Darkburst up, probably saving about 2 minutes.

I did record myself getting it, so it's all good...and I picked up 5 items on the way before I saved, including Darkburst, and went from 71%-76%, so it still counts and stuff.

You still have to do the 2 bomb slots puzzle though, so the blade is raised high enough.

You can get the DarkBurst without Screw Attack and with out going though the dark world.

Raise the blade by setting off both bomb slots. Stand on the blade on the side with the bars in the wall. L-jump up to a standable spot against the second thin bar to the right. Now simply space jump to the platform sticking out of the wall and then to the DarkBurst.

Aside: You can reach a ledge leading to the tunnel to the blade from above by a single bomb BS jump if you don't have Boostball.

As we all know, when you hold R, Samus puts her left hand on the cannon to aim. Also, if you switch beams while her hand is on the cannon, she will remove her hand until the cannon finishes switching beams. However, if you let go of R during the animation, Samus won't put her hand back and every time after that you switch beams, Samus' hand will move close to her cannon, but then move back away, making it look as if she is performing a karate chop of some sort!

To fix the glitch, simply hold R so that Samus' hand touches the cannon.

If you hold R longer in-between the animation, ((not sure exactly how long, but up to the point the animation stops, or slightly before)) ''then'' release R, Samus will put her hand on the arm cannon and leave it there.
