Kenjoki Ikari:

I'm going to have to experiment with this one a little. I think it's possible to reenter the starting room, just beyond the Echo Door, so that you don't have to deal with clearing Hive Gyro and the nasty Morphball falling problems.

I tried it, and almost got back in - but an unfortunate slide in Morphball mode screwed over that attempt.

...it might take some time, since I've since gotten Echo and opened the door. I'll play through again and set aside a save for screwing around. Also, anyone notice that that Ing never shows up again, after going through that door? ((or is it from killing him?))

The Ing doesn't show up once you beat Quadraxis, I think. If you're thinking of reentering Hive Dynamo again just from falling into it behind the Echo door, you might want to take another look at the room past the Echo door; it's solid. I can see no way of you just falling back into the room after climbing over the echo gate. The instance in which kip fell through the door was sheer luck, it was one-of-a-kind and I've never been able to reproduce such an event. There's really not that much problem with the door warping and morph ball falling. What kind of problems are you having? Are you falling too far? Just remember that you don't have to fall directly in front of the door, you can give yourself a bit of room and unmorph with the door below you just about an entire Samus height, since when the room loads, there is an opening with quite a bit of space, and the room will just load and you'll fall to the floor. You don't have to door warp with the floor directly below Samus' feet, there's always room for some error... unless you unmorph below the floor, that is. Then you're screwed. But yeah.... shouldn't be that bad. - Flamancipator

Hmm. Well, what I was thinking was that you'd morph above the Echo Door, just inside it, and ((hopefully)) there'd be a point there the game would allow you to drop back in - sort of like when falling off into oblivion, but it'd be a slight more controlled, since the game would realize you've got ground under you once you popped back through the ceiling. Like I said, I'll have to get back to that point and keep trying, just keep screwing around.

I was off to the left of the Echo Door just a bit too much - I almost got in through some grating, but I hit an unfortunate slope and went into oblivion. I was stuck directly in front of the Light Beam door for about a minute, too - I was halfway into the room, and couldn't fall more - not even in Morphball. I could open the door, buy Hive Gyro didn't load. The door didn't really open, the barrier just went offline ((like when the game's trying to load a room, and you've gotten there too fast.)) but the door never opened.

So, yeah, I'll keep trying. - Kenjoki

This is a graphical glitch similar to the Screw Attack in Water glitch.

I was in the single room of Lower Torvus that houses Dark Bloggs. I was returning from collecting the Power Bombs, and was moving the statue out of the way - to open the shortcut to Sanctuary.

As I Spiderballed out ot the water, to boost onto the statue and continue moving it, the screen stayed watery. It remained watery, even until I had moved the statue out of the way. When I returned to First-Person view, the screen was still watery. Upon leaving the room, it returned to normal.

I have no explanation for why this glitch happened - and I haven't been able to reproduce it.

It seems like a random glitch.
Maybe, I'm not entirely sure... I never went too far into it.
I've been thinking, though... is the Expansion on top the Tyr ''there'' before the cutscene? If so, and if there were a way to get up there, that might mean 102% - '''''IF''''' the Expansion were there, '''and''' respawned after the cutscene - which I highly doubt.

Thinking more on it, there's that Seeker Missile Door that blocks your return.
The one you ((normally)) need to have Seeker Missiles and the Dark Visor to open?
You'd still need to go ((about)) halfway through the game before coming back, and your next stop would be Sanctuary by that time, anyway. It'd be a little pointless... unless you find a Secret World in that room to exploit.
As we all know, when you hold R, Samus puts her left hand on the cannon to aim. Also, if you switch beams while her hand is on the cannon, she will remove her hand until the cannon finishes switching beams. However, if you let go of R during the animation, Samus won't put her hand back and every time after that you switch beams, Samus' hand will move close to her cannon, but then move back away, making it look as if she is performing a karate chop of some sort!
Note that this is a very picky one - if you L-lock anything or even tap R to the point it's registered as a button-press, it'll undo.
