Why do people keep deleting the main page? WHATS YOUR PROBLEM ADVERTISE SOMEWHERE ELSE PEOPLE!!-Several people

Is there any way possible to stop this from occuring? Do the administrators have higher power that can possibly help out with the situation? Personally, I'm sick of it. Also, are the people in which have deleted the Main Page actually computerized systems for advertising purposes only? It's been the same type of advertisement, so it's probable that we'll see it again unless something is put into action. Giving a warning to or banning the users could be effective, but even for the same advertisement, the users have varied. My suggestion is to have a randomized picture with a code on it placed on the sign up screen. Users of AIM will know what I'm talking about. The new users will then have to enter the exact case sensitive code to make an account. This, however, should not affect existing users to make it as painless as possible. -MML54
I personally am glad that the MP2 page finally got the M2K2 makeover, but I don't think the wiki should go away forever. It seems like a lot better place to post discoveries than the forums.
<li>In the final stage, one fully charged Light Beam shot will stun the head. Then Spider Ball up the legs and boost onto the head while it passes. By Solr_Flare

Contributors: Solr_Flare, Prime Hunter, a multitude of others

Dark Samus 3:

Weapon of Choice: Annihilator

1) To get from DS3 to DS4, you must first take off 1/4 of DS's life bar. Do not hold back because you don't need beam ammo for DS4.

2) The ideal weapon to use is Annihilator as it does significant damage. But if you are out of one or both ammo types, any other beam/charged beam will work. Annihilator regular shots can drop her to 75% health in about 10 seconds though.

3) Be sure not to attempt to damage her when she has a glowing "blue shield" around her, as you will not be able to hit her. Easiest is when she is stealthed and only visable via the echo visor. Missiles won't work, so save them for DS4.

Added by Prime Hunter

Also, when Dark Samus goes into the floating mode where she fires the phazon-like beam at you, I found that you can pretty much stand under her and not get hit by this: Easier to do than trying to dodge it in my opinion

"Added by Enddor"

To defeat her very easily, just use a sonic boom, instant change to Dark Samus 4. It is the best to use it when she gets closer to you (almost point blank), then it will hit easily. 'Note' you have to have the ammo!
Also, you can save lots of time on Dark Samus 4 by doing lots of damage (enough so that it will not change to Dark Samus 4), then using a sonic boom.

Dark Samus 4

Weapon of Choice: Charged Power Beam, Super Missiles

1) DS has two different phases in this form: "Bubble mode" and "Not in Bubble mode"

2) Bubble Mode consists of 2 different attacks

- giant blue/white homing phazon particles that she randomly shoots

- small blue/white snowflakes that she shoots out of the top of the bubble towards you whenever her bubble expands

3) When she is in bubble mode, there is one wall in the room that does not have phazon against it. Back yourself up against the wall to give yourself room.

4) Begin charging your power beam while she is in bubble mode. Strafe to the left or right to easily dodge the large phazon particles she shoots at you.

5) When she unleashes the "snowflakes" in bubble mode, you must suck 3 in like a vaccuum with your charging power beam.

6) Once you have 3 snowflakes sucked in, your charge will glow blue and sparkle. Quickly shoot that at Dark Samus to damage her lifebar.

7) Eventually her bubble will shrink and she will float to the ground. The instant she begins to stand up from her crouch, fire a Super missile at close range. This will instantly force her back into bubble mode.

8) Should you miss with the super missile when she lands, damage from any beam(annihilator prefered) can force her back into bubble mode again.

Now repeat this until you finally beat her. It takes approximately 5 to 6 snowflake powered charge beams in bubble mode to finish her on normal difficulty.

Added by Prime Hunter

When she is in the "bubble" mode, I also noticed that if you move inward towards her when she fires the large phazon particles (You need to be pretty close to her for this to work), you can easily avoid them. Just be sure to move back off a bit after it hits. This is so that when she expands the bubble for the "snowflakes", the expansion doesn't collide with you.

And one minor note here: When she fires the snowflakes out at you, be sure to manually aim at them instead of continuing to lock onto Dark Samus: Trust me on this one...

Added by CtrlAltDestroy

Just a minor note: Those super missiles she shoots in bubble mode are the easiest things in the world to dodge. You don't need to strafe dash to avoid them, or back against a wall for that matter. All you have to do is lock on to her and slowly strafe a few inches to the side as the thing is flying at you. It will fly right past you.

Added by Zxcvbnm

If you turn the sound on, you can hear an audio cue before DS fires a homing missile as opposed to Phazon "snowflakes," and dodge it. The missile is much louder and more mechanical-sounding.

Added by SamusAranLuver
Discovered by: my cousin Arnold Yum

When DS is about to fire a missile the phazon bubble around her is normal, but when Ds is about to fire phazon snow flakes at you the phazon bubble enlarges. You can use both my stratige or Zxcvbnm's to predict DS's next Attack.

Added by Kirzath

While trying to grab the Phazon "snowflakes", jump while doing so, so if you miss one, it does not dammage you and make you have to wait for DS to launch more Phazon "snowflakes"

Added by DJ Grenola

While DS is not in bubble mode, her only means of attack is a melee-style phazon shield attack. You can prevent this easily just by space jumping backwards as she approaches (useful in a no-energy tank game).

Gendreavus: added Echo Visor to the only know skippable items

Last Updated 12/21/2004

Grapple Beam

- Only needed for the room prior to the Vault (room you get Screw Attack in). Methods have been found to bypass all other grapple points.

- Alternatively, figure out how to skip Screw Attack (as described below) and solve reaching the Energy Controller room in Sanctuary Temple.

Screw Attack

- Needed in Ing Hive Temple, <s>to obtain an Ing Hive Key</s>, to obtain the Sky Temple Key in Ing Hive Entrance, and to reach Emperor Ing.

Gravity Boost

- Dark Tovus Key 2 prevents this skip. Either reaching Sanctuary early, defeating the PB Guardian without Spider Ball, reaching the Dark World portal without Gravity Boost then leaving Light Torvus without Gravity Boost, or secret worlding to the key are the only known possible and plausible solutions to reaching the key without Gravity Boost.

update: PB after Dark Suit is now possible using a Secret World in Feeding pit. It is still too early to tell, but Grav Boost can be likely skipped this way. But not for lower % due to the nature of needing the main PB expansion (see below) and extra e-tanks.

Seeker Missiles

- Gates blocking the path from Torvus to Sanctuary. These include Sacred Bridge, and the second room past Sanctuary Entrance. You can not see the seeker targets for these gates without Dark Visor; however, you can damage seeker targets without Dark Visor on.

- Accursed Lake and Reliquary Sky Temple Keys

Boost Ball

- Needed to enter Sanctuary (1st room in Sanc.) We might be able to get the early PBs in feeding pit early then use it to to get into sanc early w/o Boost Ball?

Annihilator Beam

- Only the doors in Ing Hive temple prevent this item from being skipped. However, bypassing them will likely only be possible via secret worlds.

Spiderball

- Needed for various rooms still, PB Guardian, and potentially Emperor Ing form 2. Not needed for Quadraxis.

update<br>Okay, so I was messing around on my AR with the moonjump and Infinite health/ammo codes to figure out what could and couldn't be skipped when I found out the hard way that the spiderball cannot be skipped. I had been playing for about an hour without saving when I just beat Quadraxis and was about to leave the sanctuary when I thought, maybe I should get the Sky Temple keys first. So I went through the spider ball boss sequence, didn't pick up the item, and power bombed the door to enter the dark world in order to get the sky temple key. Got the key and came back when I realized:<br>1. The spider ball pickup was gone and:<br>2. All of the energy thingys the spider guardian had destroyed were back, thus blocking my exit. <br>I'm not sure if this would have been different if I had left the room out the entrance before I opened the power bomb door, but I'm almost positive that this spells the end for any possibility of skipping the spider ball...<br>
<vanishes to attempt to make up an hour's worth of lost work>

Dark Visor

- Needed to see and damage Ing Hive Caches holding sky temple keys. Summised they only exist when the dark visor is on in a manner akin to how Omega Pirate is only damagable when X-ray is on in Metroid Prime 1.

- Also needed for Seekers to lock on to Dark World viewable Seeker targets.

Light/Dark Beams, PBs, Super Missiles, Missiles, Bombs, Space Jump, Light Suit

- All needed in multiple locations. Chance of skipping these is likely 0.

Translator Doors

- Great Temple, Agon, and Torvus translators required to reach later areas. Sanctuary Translator currently needed to reach Spiderball region.

Notes:

- The only known "skippable" required items (that counts as %) are the Echo Visor and the Dark Suit but the Dark Suit requires additional energy tank pickups to complete the game. Thus, higher percent completion when skipped. See Light Suit without Dark Suit

- Amorbis, and therefore the Dark Agon keys can be skipped when skipping the Dark Suit.

- Returning the energy to Agon and Torvus can be skipped (but not Sanctuary, for that triggers Light Suit).

- The keys for the Ing Hive can be skipped by getting over the Ing Hive key gate blocking you from Quadraxis. See Skipping the Ing Hive Keys.

- The Caretaker Drone can be skipped by getting Screw Attack early.

- The PB Guardian can be put off till later if you get Screw Attack and therefore a early PB expansion, but it must be beaten eventually to have the Sky Temple key in Dark Oasis spawn. update: same rule should apply to Feeding Pit expansion obtained after Dark Suit via secret worlds.

I'm not entirely certain... but I believe it was something like, stun the head, get onto the next leg it's going to pass (I think that requires ghetto jumping...), jump onto the head and roll right into the morph ball slot. It might require some Mid-Air Morphing into the slots on the head; I don't know if it's stand-on-able or not.

Quadzy's head is stand-on-able (I checked with my AR), but it can be very hard getting the morph ball into the bomb slots. Of course, what is to happen when one question gets answered but another one comes up? How do you damage his head in the second form without the Echoe visor?O_O<br><vanishes>

<B>PART I:</B>

The first part is pretty easy. Simply bomb the Spider Guardian twice so he turns green, then get to the right side and do a DBJ where the red dots are. That way, you'll reach the bomb slot (yellowish dots) faster than going all the way around to the left.

http://membres.lycos.fr/zell99/mp2/zell_sg_1.jpg

<B>PART II:</B>

The easiest way I found to defeat this part is to get on the ledge on the right side and drop down (red dots) laying bombs when the SG is coming towards you. Do that twice and, when he turns green, just boost to the left side, get on the platform and bomb the slot (yellow dots).

http://membres.lycos.fr/zell99/mp2/zell_sg_2.jpg

<B>PART III:</B>

This part is really easy if you know what to do. Simply boost on the top part from the left. Drop down the opening and land on the block where the red dots are. When you hug the right wall, SG's shield won't hurt you. You just have to get near the left ledge and lay bombs when he comes by to hurt him. Before he goes away, bomb him a second time to get him green. Then simply fall left on the platform that appeared and bomb the slot (yellow dots).

http://membres.lycos.fr/zell99/mp2/zell_sg_3.jpg

<B>PART IV:</B>

No special strategy here. I bomb the slots from bottom to top but it doesn't really matter. If you need more time just get back down and bomb the spider guardian again.

TIP: Zoom out while bombing the Guardian. When the slots are activated, zoom in for better precision while bomb jumping to the other slots. This is especially crucial in part 4, where passage on the right side is messed up by perspective when zoomed out, often making you go too far right.

TIP: After triggering the slots bomb the guardian so that he glows red; this makes him go faster, saving you time.

AURAS:

RED: Fast and small, happens when you bomb the Guardian but not enough to trigger the slots.

BLUE: Medium speed and medium size, normal aura

GREEN: Slow and huge, happens when you trigger the slots

------
More Stage 4 Tips: (Added by Ummeiko but probably found out by many others as well - feel free to edit or remove if desired)

Whenever you bomb the bottom of the three slots, make sure the guardian is to the right of the gate that drops down. If the guardian touches that gate from either side when it is down, all of the gates will be reset. Thus, when bombing more than one slot, it is best to save the bottommost slot for last, to ease up on the amount of time available (especially if your bomb jumps aren't always perfect). If you're fast enough, it doesn't matter the order, but this method gives you a bit more leeway.

It is possible to boost across the gaps on the second and third levels. Do this to save time.

Remember that the Guardian's shield can go through the walls and platforms (especially when he's green), knocking you off course and doing damage. If you're on the second level (where the lowest bomb slot is) the guardian CAN hit you, unless you are above the two spots where the floor dips down and the platforms are thicker.

----

You don't have to wait till he puts back up his shield to bomb him, simply bomb him while he's stunned. This method is useful in first and last stages
tip by: rodent347

If someone ever figures out how to get the Power Bombs before this guy (I'm not sure if it has already been done yet or not), DO NOT USE THEM ON THE GUARDIAN! The Spider Ball Guardian will do that 'incinerated' thing that everything else does when you PB it and it goes away forever without destroying the energy blocker things. You'd be stuck, Spider Ball-less and have to shut off the cube...just like I had to do for the second time...<br><vanishes to attempt to make up my lost work for the third time>

Echo Visor

- Needed only to disable the sonic locks enroute to Quadraxis. Quadraxis, Dark Samus 3/4, and the Ing Hive key in watch station can all be reached/beaten without using echo visor.

Boost Ball

- Needed to enter Sanctuary (1st room in Sanc.) and break the window to reach the Echo Visor/Dark Samus 2 fight.

Notes:

- The only known "skippable" required item (that counts as %) is the Dark Suit but requires additional energy tank pickups to complete the game.

All of the energy thingys the spider guardian had destroyed were back, thus blocking my exit.<br>I'm not sure if this would have been different if I had left the room out the entrance before I opened the power bomb door, but I'm almost positive that this spells the end for any possibility of skipping the spider ball...<br>
<vanishes to attempt to make up an hours worth of lost work>

Notes:

- The only known "skippable" required item (that counts as %) is the Dark Suit but requires additional energy tank pickups to complete the game.

-Gendreavus

It doesn't look like you can. The only way to open the container holding the Seeker is by solving the puzzle
using the boost ball. Even if you get in there without the boost, you can't get back out again and end up
having to reset.

It has, in fact, been done already. By one person only. No idea who, but he said it took him hours. Anyway, you want to be sucked into a spinner while holding something like down-left, as well as L and R. It should move some, then go back to its original poisition. However, if you're lucky, you might just give it enough momentum to stop at the next part. Very tricky.
So I'm guessing until somebody finds an easier way to do it this won't be in any speed runs or SBing.

A theory on how the Jump works:

When you are standing in the dark water, you feel an expanded gravity and also feel a greatly increased "jump" force. These two values being greater causes the time you spend airborne to drop, in the water that is. If you're in the water when the cocoon drops, some sort of programmer oversight makes the gravity value reset, but not the jumping force. This lets you jump really high.

I remember seeing a video of this last night, but it had an obscure name... I'll check when I get home.<br><br>
Ok, I know I saw this video last night... I was tooling around on the sites looking at everyone's videos. Someone has this recorded because it took me a second to realize what the person was doing... I just thought they were being bored while gaining energy in a light zone and shooting the statue up on the cliff. It may have been named for the bomb jumping? I can't find it, and I cleared my download history last night... :(<BR>-Jai

Okay, Does it actually lower his health meter, or does it just make one power shot do ridiculous damage? I followed all the damage and pretty much wasted all my missiles on where the Jump Guardian is supposed to be (It's right in front of the Luminoth head statue, right?) and when I triggered the fight it had full health. I don't think any of my shots did any extra damage either. Am I doing something wrong?
