You can stand on the pole behind the catching boards in which you bump in when going into the outer orb cannons. Just (ghetto) jump on the board carefully and press R and move your view down a little so you can see the pole, now press L with the two buttons, then release R and the control stick and hold L, carefully position yourself in front of the thicker bar, and carefully drop down on it. now move forward till you come to a T shaped point and carefully space jump over it and land on the other side, your foes can only hit you when they aim for the head with heavier weaponry. Note 1: this can be performed on both sides of the Station. Note 2: You cannot stand on the little piece sticking out of the bar (you'll fall right through)
Near where you can get shot across the level, you can reach the top by jumping on the gate near the opening to the level, then jump on the bump near the (forcefield-like thing) (whoever did that don't freaking edit my posts again! Please!!) and Ghetto Jump off it to the top.
In the main room of Sidehopper, the one with the Grapple Point, next to the second floor, you'll see a big vent cover (one of those things that blew up in MP1). Next to that you'll see a ramp. Ghetto Jump off that onto the second floor.
Have two players stand on the hologram of the orb cannon that's parallel to the stadium, morph simultaneously. What results is that both players crash into each other.
From the two Grapple Points, swing to the small ledge running around the edge of the room (or simply turn from the upper doorways). There are small Morph Ball tunnels that lead out onto a Spider Ball panel (Yes, you have the Spider Ball) where you and your friends can have mini Morph Ball battles. I suggest you outlaw Power Bombs first--they'll knock you off.

Using a perfectly timed Space Jump, you can get onto a small ledge above the entrance to the internal area of the station. From there, jump onto the roof. I beleive this to be the fastest method of getting onto the roof.

To make it up to the roof by means of a slower but easier method, simply jump on the rim of the level itself before jumping onto the small ledge above the entrance to the internal area of the station.
Method Three

"Discovered" by: SheeEttin

You can also shoot out the grating in the hall into the interior, then jumping onto the roof to the sides of the grating. You can shoot the grating out from under your friends for some fun. ;)
<li>Boost Ball Battles. (All players morph and boost into each other. Last one surviving wins.)</li>
<li> Grapple Gladiators. (Yes, I know the name sucks. Anyway, all players attach to the same grapple point, and fire the Power Beam like crazy. Last one grappling wins. Shooting Gallery variation: Have one player "wo"man the turret, the rest swing from the grapple point directly in front of it. Give the Turret a limited number of shots. All players on Grapple point win. If none are attached, then the turret person wins.)</li>
<li>Cannon Chaos. (If you can't tell, I try to make all the names alleriterate. Anyway, go to Sidehopper Station, with two people, and each get into the Kinetic Orb Cannons at different times. See how long you can go without dying.)</li>
<li>Powerbomb Perfection. (Is it just me, or do these names get worse as I go? Anyway, in this Fun Thing to do, simply have another player detonate a Powerbomb(or do it yourself), and try to escape, while sustaining the most damage. Player with lowest health and least number of deaths wins.)
<li>Dark Water Disaster. (Hey, this nake sounds almost halfway decent! Anyway, go to Shooting Gallery, or any other stage with a substance that damages you, and hop into it. Player with least health and deaths wins. Basically the above except with acidic stuff instead of powerbombs.)
Baby Sheegoth's Fun Thing
<li>Boost Ball Races. Choose a starting point and a finishing point, See ya at the finish line!!!!!
Sorta like Grapple Gladiators, in SHOOTING GALLERY have some one go to the end grapples, you know over the orb cannons, and shoot at each other or defend by swinging side to side.

<vanishes>

I'm not entirely certain... but I believe it was something like, stun the head, get onto the next leg it's going to pass (I think that requires ghetto jumping...), jump onto the head and roll right into the morph ball slot. It might require some Mid-Air Morphing into the slots on the head; I don't know if it's stand-on-able or not.

Quadzy's head is stand-on-able (I checked with my AR), but it can be very hard getting the morph ball into the bomb slots. Of course, what is to happen when one question gets answered but another one comes up? How do you damage his head in the second form without the Echo visor?O_O<br><vanishes>
*Laughs head off* AIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do need the Echo visor AND the spider ball. I tried Ghetto jumping but u wil just fall of PLUS you need the spider ball to access his room and you cant disable Echo visor doors w/o the echo visor and the attenas on his head need the echo visor to destroy
and one mor thing, you wont get into the slots on his head w/o the spider ball and also Ghetto jumping dosent appear to work for me[i dont think it works at all]-Dark Samus

`````
You don't need the Echo Visor, but you need the Spider Ball to climb the pillar after the fight. It is possible to ghetto jump onto the legs. You don't need the Spider Ball to access his room. You can bypass that Echo Visor door on the way to Quadraxis by using Secret Worlds. You can manually aim to hit the antennae on his head. I think sparky managed to jump to the bomb slots on his head without Spider Ball by ghettoing to the top of the leg and jumping to head. Ghetto jumping works. ~ Metronome'd
Last Updated 12/21/2004
Grapple Beam
- Only needed for the room prior to the Vault (room you get Screw Attack in). Methods have been found to bypass all other grapple points.
- Alternatively, figure out how to skip Screw Attack (as described below) and solve reaching the Energy Controller room in Sanctuary Temple.
Screw Attack
- Needed in Ing Hive Temple, <s>to obtain an Ing Hive Key</s>, to obtain the Sky Temple Key in Ing Hive Entrance, and to reach Emperor Ing.
Gravity Boost
- Dark Tovus Key 2 prevents this skip. Either reaching Sanctuary early, defeating the PB Guardian without Spider Ball, reaching the Dark World portal without Gravity Boost then leaving Light Torvus without Gravity Boost, or secret worlding to the key are the only known possible and plausible solutions to reaching the key without Gravity Boost.
update: PB after Dark Suit is now possible using a Secret World in Feeding pit. It is still too early to tell, but Grav Boost can be likely skipped this way. But not for lower % due to the nature of needing the main PB expansion (see below) and extra e-tanks.
Seeker Missiles
- Gates blocking the path from Torvus to Sanctuary. These include Sacred Bridge, and the second room past Sanctuary Entrance. You can not see the seeker targets for these gates without Dark Visor; however, you can damage seeker targets without Dark Visor on.
- Accursed Lake and Reliquary Sky Temple Keys
Boost Ball
- Needed to enter Sanctuary (1st room in Sanc.) We might be able to get the early PBs in feeding pit early then use it to to get into sanc early w/o Boost Ball? (VIA Agon Temple Light Beam door)
Annihilator Beam
- Only the doors in Ing Hive temple prevent this item from being skipped. However, bypassing them will likely only be possible via secret worlds.
Spiderball
- Needed for various rooms still, PB Guardian, and potentially Emperor Ing form 2. Not needed for Quadraxis. Not needed for Dynamo Access (stand on rim of pole on either side, space jump up through spiderball track, Babie Sheegoth for that one)
update<br>Okay, so I was messing around on my AR with the moonjump and Infinite health/ammo codes to figure out what could and couldn't be skipped when I found out the hard way that the spiderball cannot be skipped. I had been playing for about an hour without saving when I just beat Quadraxis and was about to leave the sanctuary when I thought, maybe I should get the Sky Temple keys first. So I went through the spider ball boss sequence, didn't pick up the item, and power bombed the door to enter the dark world in order to get the sky temple key. Got the key and came back when I realized:<br>1. The spider ball pickup was gone and:<br>2. All of the energy thingys the spider guardian had destroyed were back, thus blocking my exit. <br>I'm not sure if this would have been different if I had left the room out the entrance before I opened the power bomb door, but I'm almost positive that this spells the end for any possibility of skipping the spider ball...<br>
<vanishes to attempt to make up an hour's worth of lost work>
Dark Visor
- Needed to see and damage Ing Hive Caches holding sky temple keys. Summised they only exist when the dark visor is on in a manner akin to how Omega Pirate is only damagable when X-ray is on in Metroid Prime 1.
- Also needed for Seekers to lock on to Dark World viewable Seeker targets.
Light/Dark Beams, PBs, Super Missiles, Missiles, Bombs, Space Jump, Light Suit
- All needed in multiple locations. Chance of skipping these is likely 0.
Translator Doors
- Great Temple, Agon, and Torvus translators required to reach later areas. Sanctuary Translator can be skipped using a series of Secret Worlds.
Notes:
- The only known "skippable" required items (that counts as %) are the Echo Visor and the Dark Suit but the Dark Suit requires additional energy tank pickups to complete the game. Thus, higher percent completion when skipped. See Light Suit without Dark Suit
- Amorbis, and therefore the Dark Agon keys can be skipped when skipping the Dark Suit.
- Returning the energy to Agon and Torvus can be skipped (but not Sanctuary, for that triggers Light Suit).
- The keys for the Ing Hive can be skipped by getting over the Ing Hive key gate blocking you from Quadraxis. See Skipping the Ing Hive Keys.
- The Caretaker Drone can be skipped by getting Screw Attack early.
- The PB Guardian can be put off till later if you get Screw Attack and therefore a early PB expansion, but it must be beaten eventually to have the Sky Temple key in Dark Oasis spawn. update: same rule should apply to Feeding Pit expansion obtained after Dark Suit via secret worlds.
This trick is used to dash while in the second jump of space jump.
NOTE i think this page should go to the actuall techniques page.
There are many ways of doing this trick but here are to two easyest way I find doing
it. You will also need precice timing to do this trick.
on the second jump u can hold L and press R sligthy.
TO gain more distance DO NOT HOLD L ON THE FIRST JUMP but on the second jump quickly on the peak of the jump press L AND LET GO the milli SECOND AFTER Press R imeditly!
Congraulations u have just done a mid air dash with out lock on to notin!
NOTE: the screen might shake a bit or if you done IT properly the screen will look like its draging samus but the screen still might shake a bit.
Multiplayer Extras with an Action Replay
Info from Mikaa (robbin12388@bellsouth.net)
NOTE - ALL of the following requires an Action Replay (or, presumably, a Game Shark), and the proper codes for the items.
I found these quirks while I had the Action Replay codes active and switched from a standard game to Multiplayer. Thus far, none of the following cause the game to crash. Oddly enough, some of the items work so well in Multiplayer, one wonders why they weren't implimented.
Dark Suit
Crash? - No.
Visual Effect? - None.
Sound Effect(s)? - None.
Notes - This presumably lessens the damage you take against your foes.
Light Suit
Crash? - No.
Visual Effects? - None.
Sound Effects? - None.
Notes - This presumably lessens the damage like the Dark Suit. This suit prevents the damage of the dark water in the "Cannon" level.
Invulnerability
Crash? - No.
Visual Effects? - You Look Like Steel.
Sound Effects? - Nada.
Notes - This cheat actually opperates differietnly in Multiplayer than the normal game. For one, you still take damage for a set period of time, then resets to the full health. You CAN kill your foe, especially with the Massive Damage and the Super Missile.
Seeker Missile
Crash? - No.
Visual Effects? - When you use the Lock-on and hold the missile button while tracking a foe, the normal Seeker charge graphics appear.
Sound Effects? - I might be wrong, but I don't remember any sounds while doing this.
Notes - Like most of the suit enhancements, this opperates like the normal item, with one notable difference - up to THREE missiles can be fired at once.
Screw Attack
Crash? - Nope, thank heavens.
Visual Effects? - The MP2:Echoes Screw Attack.
Sound Effects? - None. Yes, nothing. You launch into the jumping mode, and you will see yourself vaulting through the air, but none of the sound effects for it will play.
Notes - This opperates just like the normal Screw Attack, sans the sound effects. One key note, though - If you manage to hit your target solidly enough (ie - how much of a direct hit), this can be a one-hit kill.
This trick lets you go directly from Great Bridge to Torvus Temple, without going through most of upper Torvus.
First, line up next to the translator door, facing the way you came in. There is a slight bump in the floor that you have to ghetto off of. Run forward, and ghetto off the bump into the slant on the wall, then back onto the door.
From here, perform a dash (using the translator door as a scan) over to the bridge.
Added by DJ Grenola
The dash to the bridge may be done in one of two ways. If you fully scan the door first as Sparky did in his vid, the dash is similar to a "Kip Dash", and is performed by simultaneously holding L to scan, briefly jabbing B to jump, and slamming the stick left as fast as possible. Immediately after this initial combination, you should also hold R. The scan will freeze the screen, at which point you should let go of the control stick so it returns to centre, and continue to hold R and L. Now release L to unfreeze the screen, and immediately hold it again. Keep L and R held for the duration of the jump, and then just tap B at an appropriate moment for the space jump. It is tight, but you should be able to make it onto the bridge.
The dash is also possible another way, for which you should start with the door unscanned. The technique is very similar, except without the screen freeze. Simultaneously hold L to scan, jab B to jump, and slam the stick left. As soon as you begin to dash, hold R, and then keep L and R held for the duration of the jump, again tapping B when necessary to get the space jump. The main difference between this and the previous technique is that here you should keep the stick held left for the entire process, whereas before it was necessary to centre it after the screen freeze.
In my opinion this second way is better, firstly because it's less complicated to execute, and secondly because you waste no time scanning the door.
If you get pushed over onto the side closer when doing this trick, to get out: Face the Translator Door jump "Hugging" the Translator Door to the left then jump to the top and execute the trick.
Near where you can get shot across the level, you can reach the top by jumping on the gate near the opening to the level, then jump on the bump near the (forcefield-like thing) (whoever did that dont freaking edit my posts again!please!!) and Ghetto Jump off it to the top.
In the main room of Sidehopper, the one with the grapple point, next to the second floor, you'll see a big circular (one of those things that blew up in MP1). Next to that you'll see a ramp. Ghetto Jump off that onto the second floor. SamusAranLuver Note:the circular thing is tallon 5. Ummmm………… no its a thing that blew up in MP1
