Faster speedrun

The site below hosts a speedrun of Metroid 1 done in 17:18. Arc (runner) uses a bug to get past the Ridley / Kraid statueroom when only beating one of them. Thought i'd let you know.

Yeah, that's cheated with savestates and slow motion. Not really looked upon kindly here.

also, the use of the term 'speed run' to describe that link is inappropriate, since that was not recorded as if you simply sat down at a console and played through the game as quickly as possible.

lol i sorta feel bad for Arc, he tries to get people impressed and all that happens is people make fun of him. I guess he should have found out the rules to this site before talking about his emulated run.

Er, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that "edited from 60 zillion save states" = "against the rules". Wink
